Bio:  Dr. Fallon began as the Director of CSDE in September 2025, overseeing all Center operations, research and staff. She is also a Professor in the School Psychology program within the Department of Counseling, School Psychology, and Sport in the College of Education and Human Development. She received her Ph.D. from University of Connecticut in 2013 and has published over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Her work has been funded by numerous organizations including the U.S. Department of Education and the Boston Public Health Commission. Her research interests include supporting educators to implement comprehensive systems of support for youth in schools, specifically youth with marginalized identities.

Bio:  Dr. Siperstein, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus in the Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Dr. Siperstein received his Ph.D. at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. In 1976, he founded the Center for Social Development and Education, and in 2006, in honor of the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver’s 85th birthday, he founded Camp Shriver. He has published more than 100 articles, dozens of book chapters, and three books. Jeff V. Ramdass, Ph.D.

Bio:  Dr. Ramdass is a senior researcher and program evaluator in the social and behavioral sciences. Jeff focuses on the way that social identity and categorization relates to a person's thoughts, behaviors, and interactions with others. In their current role, Jeff focuses on how to best promote positive social interactions and development for young people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Barbara Gildea

Bio:  As Director of Development and Strategic Relationships, Ms. Gildea leads fundraising, partnerships, and communications to support community-based education and inclusion programs. With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit development, she oversees foundation and corporate relations, individual giving initiatives, athletic event teams and strategic collaborations in support of CSDE’s mission. Ms. Gildea holds a Master of Arts in the Humanities from the University of Chicago and earned multiple bachelor’s degrees from Boston University. Ms. Gildea is a published writer and editor, contributing to national texts on inclusive education and camp programming, including Best Practices for Inclusive Camps and The SAGE Encyclopedia of Intel

Mark Spolidoro

Bio:  Mr. Spolidoro has been an adapted physical education teacher for 32 years in the Boston Public School District, where he has been instrumental in implementing inclusion in the physical education program district wide. Mr. Spolidoro further strengthens the Boston Public Schools’ commitment to inclusion in his role as the BPS coordinator for Special Olympics Massachusetts Unified Sports. Additionally, since 2008, Mark has been implementing inclusive recreational programs as a staff member at the Center for Social Development and Education where he serves as the Director of Camp Shriver at the University of Massachusetts Boston and Director of our Saturday Camp program. Bio:  Dr. Rodriguez is a Professor of Sociology with specializations in work & occupations in the healthcare industry, disability, aging, emotions, care work, identity, and qualitative methodology. He has been a Senior Research Associate at CSDE since 2021, working on a range of research projects related to social inclusion in schools for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Yu Xia

Bio:  Yu graduated with a background at the intersection of statistics and special education. At CSDE, her primary responsibility is leading the annual survey evaluation for Unified Champion Schools, a long-standing initiative that has been running for nearly two decades. In this role, she manages survey design and dissemination, oversee large-scale data cleaning and preparation, and translate complex datasets into insights that inform both internal stakeholders and external partners. She also contribute to other data-focused projects that strengthen CSDE’s overall research and evaluation capacity.

Bio:  After graduating from Tufts University with a double major in Cognitive and Brain Sciences and Child Study and Human Development, Julia joined the CSDE in July 2024. Her primary responsibilities include working on secondary data analysis related to the Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools program and contributing to the annual evaluation of Camp Shriver.

Nathan Barrett

Bio:  Since 2022, Nathan’s work as a research assistant ranged from interviewing high school track teams in Texas, to managing a nation-wide multi-tiered mixed-method longitudinal study on identity formation in inclusive high school settings, and disseminating findings in publications, evaluation reports, and recommendations to high schools. This work helps further CSDE's mission in understanding how adolescents build positive identities, and ensures student voice stays central to that understanding.
